What you can see and do
At Mohera in Mirzapur upazila, this 19th-century zamindar estate has several ornate mansions side by side, among them Ananda Lodge, Maharaj Lodge and Chowdhury Lodge. A large pond called Bishakha Sagar and tended gardens lie in front. The police run a training centre here, which is why the buildings are well kept.
How to get there
From Tangail town take a Dhaka-bound bus to Natiapara, then an auto-rickshaw to Mohera; about an hour in all.
