What you can see and do
At Baliati in Saturia upazila, a row of grand mansions was built in the 19th century by a wealthy merchant family. Tall Corinthian columns and lion-topped gateways along the front catch the eye at once. Inside you can visit a small museum, the inner quarters and a pond with paved bathing steps.
How to get there
From Manikganj town, a bus or CNG via Saturia reaches Baliati in about an hour.
