What you can see and do

Built at Savar to honour those who died in the 1971 Liberation War, the memorial was designed by architect Syed Mainul Hossain. Seven pairs of triangular walls rise in steps to about 150 feet. Leave time for the surrounding pools, gardens and mass graves.

How to get there

From Gabtoli in Dhaka, take a Dhaka-Aricha highway bus to Nabinagar; the ride takes about 1.5 hours.

Safety notes

Do not climb on old walls or ruins or write on them; check the opening hours and closing days first.
