What you can see and do

Lalakhal in Jaintiapur, Sylhet, shows two moods of the Sari River: monsoon flow beneath green hills and, in drier weather, clear blue-green water over a sandy bed. A boat from Sarighat follows the river upstream past tea gardens and hills. The colour changes with rain and river conditions, so do not expect the same shade in every season.

How to get there

From Sylhet city, travel along the Jaflong-Tamabil road to Sarighat, then continue to Lalakhal by local boat or road. Boat schedules and access depend on weather and river conditions.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
