What you can see and do

Bichanakandi is on the Rustompur border in Gowainghat. Here water from falls in the folds of the Meghalaya hills comes down and spreads over a stony bed. You can sit on the rocks in the cold, clear current with cloud-covered hills in front of you. Come in the monsoon when the water is high, but watch the current.

How to get there

Take a CNG from Ambarkhana in Sylhet city to Hadarpar bazar, about two hours. From there an engine boat goes to Bichanakandi.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
