What you can see and do

In winter the fields around Jhitka in Harirampur upazila turn yellow with mustard flowers to the horizon. Date palms line the field edges; at dawn tappers bring down the sap, which is boiled into the well-known Hazari jaggery. Go on a misty morning to see all of it at once.

How to get there

From Manikganj town, a bus or CNG reaches Jhitka Bazar in about an hour; walk into the fields from there.

Safety notes
