What you can see and do

Arial Beel is among the large wetlands of Bangladesh; it spreads across Sreenagar upazila, with the Padma on one side and the Dhaleshwari on the other. In the monsoon you go by boat among water lilies and island-like villages. In winter the beel drains, and the dry land fills with vegetables and giant sweet pumpkins. Each season shows a different face.

How to get there

Take a bus from Munshiganj town to Sreenagar. From there take an auto-rickshaw to Gadighat. Boats can be hired at the ghat.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
