What you can see and do

This palace was the home and estate office of Dhaka's Nawab family. The pink building stands on the bank of the Buriganga. Its name comes from Ahsanullah. His father, Nawab Abdul Ghani, raised it in the 19th century. Today it is a museum; look round the portraits and furniture, all of them from the Nawabs' day.

How to get there

From Gulistan take a rickshaw or get on a bus. Get off at Sadarghat; from there the palace, in Kumartoli, is a short walk.

Safety notes

Do not climb on old walls or ruins or write on them; check the opening hours and closing days first.
