Itna-Mithamain-Austagram Haor Road

Kishoreganj · Rivers and haors

What you can see and do

This road runs for about 30 km and is open all year. It joins three haor upazilas. During the monsoon nothing but water lies to its left and right. On a motorbike or in an auto-rickshaw you pass bridges, fishing boats and water to the horizon. In the dry season the same road is lined with green rice fields.

How to get there

From Kishoreganj town go first to Karimganj. From Chamra ghat or Balikhola ghat there, a trawler will take you to Mithamain.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
