What you can see and do

Dublar Char is an island at the southern edge of the Sundarbans, facing the Bay of Bengal. In winter thousands of fishermen camp here to dry fish, and at Rash Purnima, usually in November, pilgrims arrive for the Rash festival and a ritual sea bath.

How to get there

Reached by tour launch or trawler down the Pashur river from Mongla; a Forest Department permit is needed and you sleep on board.

Safety notes

Confirm the boat times and your way back first; services stop in bad weather.
