What you can see and do

Leaving the Sundarbans aside, Tengragiri ranks among the few large mangrove forests the country has. It lies in Taltali upazila, where people call it Fatrar Bon. Walking trails pass through sundari, keora and gewa trees to the seashore, and the Sonakata eco-park inside it keeps deer and crocodile enclosures.

How to get there

From Barguna cross the Payra river and go via Amtali to Sonakata in Taltali. From Kuakata you can also come across by trawler.

Safety notes

Check the entry rules and permits with the forest department or local authority first; do not go deep without a guide.
