What you can see and do
The Varendra Research Museum was founded in 1910; Bangladesh has no older museum. Today it comes under Rajshahi University. Take your time over the black stone images made in the days of the Pala and Sena kings. Manuscripts, inscriptions and old coins are kept here as well. Visit before touring the northern archaeological sites to understand their background.
How to get there
In the Hetem Khan area of Rajshahi city; reachable by rickshaw or auto-rickshaw from anywhere in town.
