What you can see and do

This mixed evergreen forest lies in the Raghunandan hills of Chunarughat. Seven hill streams cross it; the name Satchhari comes from them. It is among the country's good places to see hoolock gibbons and two kinds of langur, capped and Phayre's. About 200 bird species live here. Trails of half an hour to three hours pass tea gardens and a Tripura village.

How to get there

Take a bus or CNG from Habiganj town to Chunarughat, then a CNG to the park gate; about 1.5 hours in all.

Safety notes

Check the entry rules and permits with the forest department or local authority first; do not go deep without a guide.
