What you can see and do

Adwaita Mallabarman's novel 'A River Called Titash' gave this river a lasting place in Bengali literature. It flows past Brahmanbaria town, and a monsoon boat ride shows fishing settlements, ghats and river life up close. Boat races are held here toward the end of the rainy season.

How to get there

Take a rickshaw to a riverside ghat in Brahmanbaria town, such as Anandabazar Ghat, and hire a boat by the hour.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
