What you can see and do

Nilsagar is a very large old pond; local people also call it Birat Dighi or Binna Dighi. It lies at Gorgram in Nilphamari Sadar. Trees line its high banks, and thousands of migratory ducks settle on the water in winter. A walk right round the pond along the bank takes about an hour.

How to get there

About 14 km south-west of Nilphamari town; roughly half an hour by auto-rickshaw.

Safety notes

Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
