What you can see and do

The mosque went up in the late 18th century in Nayabad village, beside the Dhepa river; Kantajew Temple is a short way off. The story goes that the Muslim craftsmen who had come to work on that temple stayed on here and made the mosque for their own prayers. It has three domes. Terracotta plaques of flowers and vines survive on its walls.

How to get there

Travel from Dinajpur town to Kantajew Temple, then go about 1.5 km by van or auto-rickshaw.

Safety notes

Dress modestly at a place of worship, keep quiet during prayers and ask before taking photographs.
