What you can see and do

In Garh Dharmapal village of Jaldhaka upazila, the traces of an ancient fort enclosed by high earthen ramparts are linked with the name of the Pala king Dharmapala. Settlement and farming now threaten the ramparts, and most of the land inside is crop fields and village homes. It suits travellers who like little-visited archaeological sites.

How to get there

Jaldhaka is about 22 km east of Nilphamari town; from there take an auto-rickshaw or van to Garh Dharmapal village.

Safety notes

Do not climb on old walls or ruins or write on them; check the opening hours and closing days first.
