What you can see and do

At about 2,200 feet above sea level, Nilgiri is Bandarban's best-known hilltop. Get there early in the morning and cloud lies below the summit. When the sky is clear, the bends of the Sangu river show far below. Chimbuk Hill and Shoilo Propat waterfall are beside the same road; stop there too if you like.

How to get there

Nilgiri is about 47 km from Bandarban town. You travel along the Thanchi road by jeep (chander gari). The drive takes around two hours.

Safety notes

Hill paths turn slippery in the rains and landslides are possible; be down before dusk and take a local guide where needed.
