Boga Lake
What you can see and do
Boga Lake lies in the hills of Ruma, more than a thousand feet above sea level. The lake is natural, with a Bawm village on its shore. To reach Keokradong, too, you have to pass this lake. Since October 2022 tourist travel to Ruma has been suspended and resumed several times for security reasons, and it is also halted for a while during heavy rain. Before leaving, ask the Ruma upazila administration whether the trip is possible at present.
How to get there
Go from Bandarban town to Ruma Bazar by bus or jeep, then continue by jeep with a registered guide to Boga Lake. You have to register at the check posts on the way, so carry a photocopy of your national ID.
Safety notes
Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
