Kotila Mura

Cumilla · History and heritage

What you can see and do

Kotila Mura is the remains of three Buddhist stupas standing side by side on a hillock of the Lalmai-Mainamati ridge. The three are thought to represent the Buddhist Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. It sees far fewer visitors than Shalban Vihara, so you can look around in peace.

How to get there

Take a CNG from Cumilla town to the cantonment area; the site is inside the cantonment, so check entry rules first.

Safety notes

Do not climb on old walls or ruins or write on them; check the opening hours and closing days first.
