Jessoreshwari Kali Temple
What you can see and do
Hindus hold the Jessoreshwari temple in special regard. It is counted among the 51 Shakti Peethas. By tradition the 16th-century rebuilding was the work of Raja Pratapaditya; the temple stands at Ishwaripur in Shyamnagar. Worshippers travel long distances for the puja held on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
How to get there
Bus from Satkhira town to Shyamnagar, then an auto-rickshaw or van about 5 km to Ishwaripur.
