What you can see and do

At Karamjal, on the bank of the Pashur river, one day is enough to see the Sundarbans; nowhere else in the forest is so little trouble to reach. A wooden walkway runs through the mangroves to the watchtower. The Forest Department breeds crocodiles and deer here. It suits families; monkeys are common in the trees.

How to get there

Go by road from Khulna to Mongla in Bagerhat district, then take an engine boat along the Pashur river; the boat ride takes an hour to an hour and a half.

Safety notes

Check the entry rules and permits with the forest department or local authority first; do not go deep without a guide.
