Belai Beel
What you can see and do
Spread beside the Chilai River between Gazipur Sadar and Kaliganj, Belai Beel fills to the brim in the monsoon. From a hired boat you see water lilies, fishermen casting nets and villages standing like islands. Go in the afternoon and you can stay for the sunset.
How to get there
From Shibbari in Gazipur town, take an auto-rickshaw to Kanaia Bazar and hire a boat at the ghat.
Safety notes
Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
