What you can see and do

Of all the nabaratna (nine-spired) temples in Bangladesh, this three-storey one in Hatikumrul village, Ullapara, is held to be the largest. It dates from the early 18th century. Not one of its nine spires is left. Terracotta plaque work still shows on the walls, though. Smaller shrines, including a do-chala and a Shiva temple, stand nearby.

How to get there

Hatikumrul roundabout is about 20 km from Sirajganj town; from there it is 1 to 2 km by van or auto-rickshaw.

Safety notes

Do not climb on old walls or ruins or write on them; check the opening hours and closing days first.
