Halti Beel
What you can see and do
Halti Beel in Naldanga upazila fills with water to the horizon in the monsoon. The fun here is wading along the submerged road from Patul to Khajura and taking a boat round villages that stand like islands in the beel. In the dry season the same wetland turns into green rice fields.
How to get there
Patul Ghat is about 10 km north of Natore town, roughly half an hour by CNG auto-rickshaw.
Safety notes
Wear a life jacket on a boat; stay off the river when a storm is likely.
