What you can see and do

Char Kukri Mukri is protected as a wildlife sanctuary, and the mangroves planted here are now thick forest. It lies where the Meghna meets the sea, with Char Fasson to its north. By boat along the narrow creeks you will come across deer and monkeys, and migratory birds too in the cold season; many visitors camp on the sandbars nearby.

How to get there

From Bhola town take a bus to Char Fasson first. Go on to Char Kachchhapia ghat. The last leg is by trawler, about an hour.

Safety notes

Confirm the boat times and your way back first; services stop in bad weather.
