Bijoypur China Clay Hills
What you can see and do
Small white hills ring the china clay quarries of Bijoypur, in Durgapur upazila. In places the colour turns pink or grey. Water collected in the diggings looks blue-green, striking beside the white slopes. Once across the Someshwari, a motorbike or auto-rickshaw will take you round these hills, Ranikhong and the border villages in a single trip.
How to get there
Durgapur is about 45 km north of Netrokona town. Cross the Someshwari there and take a motorbike or auto-rickshaw. The hills are a further 7 km.
Safety notes
Hill paths turn slippery in the rains and landslides are possible; be down before dusk and take a local guide where needed.
