Sayedabad to Barishal over the Padma Bridge is 171 km on BRTA's list; the regulated non-AC fare, tolls included, is Tk 629 on a 40-seat bus and Tk 493 on a 51-seat bus. The old route from Gabtoli by the Paturia ferry is 242 km and Tk 838/657. For travel on 12 Oct 2026 non-AC seats were Tk 600–750 (Golden Line, Ena, Sakura, Labiba, Hanif) and AC seats Tk 750–1,350 (Green Line economy 1,000, business 1,300; Shohagh 1,350). After the fare increase Sakura Paribahan was accused of charging Tk 100 extra on this route (Prothom Alo, 22 Sep 2026). BRTC's AC bus runs from Gulistan (Fulbaria). Buses end at Nathullabad bus stand (Sakura's coaches from Gulistan end at Rupatali bus stand). The district portal also lists overnight launches from Sadarghat.

Runs every night. Since the Padma Bridge the fleet works on rotation, with roughly 2-5 launches a night each way (on 30 Dec 2025 four direct launches and one via-route launch left Barishal at 21:00). From 22 Sep 2026: deck Tk 350, single cabin Tk 1,200, double cabin Tk 2,400 (reported by Ittefaq and Manab Zamin). A local site's list (May 2026) gives deck Tk 350-400 and family/VIP cabins Tk 4,500-8,000 depending on the vessel, so on busy days or some vessels you may pay a little more. The government ceiling for deck (153.25 km, from 24 Sep 2026) works out to about Tk 461; owners charge less and fares move with the season. The departure window (20:15-21:15) comes from a single local site's list, so treat it as approximate; southern launches generally start leaving Sadarghat after 17:00, and you should confirm your vessel's time when buying the ticket. In winter fog sailings are cancelled or the 8-hour trip can take 12 hours.

On 26 May 2026 the Muladi-bound MV Abhijan-5 was loading at Sadarghat; a March 2025 report said launches on this route had been cut. 137 km, official deck ceiling about Tk 417. Whether it runs every day is not confirmed.

On 26 May 2026 the Hizla-bound MV Rajhangsa was loading at Sadarghat; the May 2026 official fare chart has a Dhaka-Mehendiganj (Patarhat) via Hizla route: Hizla 114 km (deck ceiling about Tk 355), Patarhat 159.5 km (about Tk 478). Whether it runs every day is not confirmed.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines

Biman only, three days a week: in August-October 2026 flights ran on Friday and Sunday mornings (Dhaka 08:30 to Barishal 09:20; return 09:45 to Dhaka 10:30) and Thursday evenings (Dhaka 16:50 to Barishal 17:40; return 18:05 to Dhaka 18:50); the flights of 8 and 9 Oct 2026 are in the schedule too. On some days the time moves by about 20 minutes (on Sunday 4 October it left Dhaka at 08:10). US-Bangla's schedule has no Barishal flights in October-November 2026 and its August 2026 statement does not list Barishal among its domestic destinations; Novoair and Air Astra do not fly here either. Biman's own schedule page could not be opened, so days and times come from two separate flight trackers (Avionio and FlightAware) that agree; days may change with the winter schedule from 25 October, so confirm with Biman before booking.
