Tajhat Palace
Rangpur · History and heritage
October – March

This three-domed mosque from the early 19th century, near Mithapukur town, is a fine example of the late Mughal style. The front wall, arches and corner turrets are covered in delicate vine and geometric ornament. Small but well kept, the mosque is still used for prayer.
Mithapukur is about 24 km south of Rangpur city on the Dhaka highway; get off the bus and take a short rickshaw ride.
Dress modestly at a place of worship, keep quiet during prayers and ask before taking photographs.
Put together from the site’s own information. Check the weather and local conditions before you go.
