What you can see and do

This 15th-century mosque, part of a UNESCO World Heritage property, is Bangladesh's largest of the Sultanate period. Khan Jahan Ali raised it. Count the domes over the prayer hall: 77, not the sixty of its name. Seven along the middle are shaped like hut roofs; rows of stone pillars stand below.

How to get there

It stands a few kilometres west of Bagerhat town on the Khulna road. Buses, auto-rickshaws and easy bikes all go there.

Safety notes

Dress modestly at a place of worship, keep quiet during prayers and ask before taking photographs.
