Ghagra Khan Bari Jame Mosque

Sherpur · Places of worship

What you can see and do

This small single-domed mosque in Ghagra Laskar village, Jhenaigati upazila, is a protected monument. It is described as Mughal-period, but two different years, 1608 and 1808, are given for its construction; the dated black-stone tablet over the door was stolen in 2023. Its thick walls, single east doorway and four corner turrets clearly follow the Mughal manner, while the coloured flower-and-vase designs inside are now mostly hidden under white paint. It makes an easy short stop on the way to Gajni.

How to get there

Go about 14 km from Sherpur town on the Jhenaigati road, then turn in to Ghagra Laskar village by auto-rickshaw or van.
