What you can see and do
Narrow canals run for miles through the guava orchards of Atghar Kuriana. The area belongs to Nesarabad (Swarupkathi) upazila. In the monsoon you tour the orchards by dinghy, guava is traded from boats on the Kuriana canal, and once a week Atghar hosts a market selling newly built wooden boats.
How to get there
Bus from Pirojpur town to Swarupkathi, then an auto-rickshaw or trawler to Atghar Kuriana; it is also reached directly from Barishal.
