Orakandi Thakur Bari
What you can see and do
Orakandi in Kashiani upazila is the main pilgrimage centre of the Matua community. Father and son Harichand Thakur and Guruchand Thakur called for social reform from here. Temples and bathing ponds make the whole village a sacred site. The Baruni bathing festival in spring draws very large crowds of devotees.
How to get there
Take a bus from Gopalganj town to Kashiani, then an auto-rickshaw or van to Orakandi village.

Dress modestly at a place of worship, keep quiet during prayers and ask before taking photographs.
